A member asked:

How long does it take for tonsil stones to go away if you do the salt gargle rinse 3-4 times a day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tonsil stones: Gargling with warm salt water or other washes may or may not dislodge tonsillar stones. I don't recommend it, but scraping with a cotton swab or your finger may remove a small tonsillar stone if you can reach it. If you do this you must gargle immediately afterwards. For larger stones or if inflammation, consult an Otolaryngologist.
