A member asked:

What causes a neck muscle pain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many possibilities: Infections of the tonsils, throat, neck lymph nodes, or sinuses, can all cause sore throat, neck ache, and head ache. For some people, ear pressure or ear pain can also cause throat, neck, or head ache. A primary care doctor can check to see what the problem is. Non-infectious causes in a young adult include muscle strains, neck sprains, but less likely arthritis or spinal nerve/vertebra issues.
