A member asked:

On tenoretic and lotrel for bp control. my understanding is that the beta blocker in tenoretic and the ace in lotrel basically hold on to potassium. however the diuretic in tenoretic releases such salts. high or low potassium? which is more likely?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Potassium: I don't think you can rely on beta blockers to retain potassium. The ACE inhibitor in lotrel will balance the potassium loss caused by the diuretic in tenoretic. Blood tests of your electrolytes can confirm this.
