A member asked:

24 hour urine sodium <40, potassium 19, uric acid low .356 and serum potassium 3.0. not on diuretic/no vomiting or diarrhea ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypokalemia: One cause of low serum potassium is hyperaldosteronism which also causes high blood pressure. If you have persistent unexplained low serum potassium levels, consult an endocrinologist or nephrologist for evaluation. Appropriate tests will be ordered.
