Home pregnancy test: Home urine pregnancy tests are very accurate by 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a regular period. The most accurate estimates happen when a woman has regular monthly periods, because we just use the date her last period BEGAN. Otherwise, ultrasound scans have good accuracy at about 8-11 weeks. Dates are always estimates.
