Temperature: Yawning increases blood flow to the brain. The cause of yawning is a stereotypical reflex which is stimulated by increase temperature in the brain. Physiologically the yawning increases recently oxygenated and cooled blood from heart to head. Likely mechanism with "real cold" is that you get an elevation in your body temperature.
