Expanding the...: Yawning is a natural and involuntary opening of the mouth and breathing in deeply. Sleepiness, fatigue and boredom are some causes, though there are others. Because sleep disorders, like sleep apnea can cause yawning, it is possible that if one has a cold and is not breathing in well because of congestion and not expanding the chest fully, that one yawns to help the body breath in better
