Exam needed: If there's no recent strain or injury of the hamstring, persistent pain in that area has to be explained. Is it muscular, bone, nerve or vascular related? For starters, I recommend an examination by an orthopedic specialist. Appropriate tests or referral to another specialist will be ordered after the assessment.
