Doctor can check: Throat pain can be from strep infection (antibiotics needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or another cause such as irritants, allergies, mouth-breathing, stomach acid reflux, etc... Usually, one sees her doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent (as in this case), or doesn't go away quickly. Aside from primary care doctors, an Allergist or an ENT doctor can help.
