Doctors can help: If a patient has symptoms, her doctors can try to treat the symptoms. If she is not getting relief, she can recheck with her primary care doctor or also see a specialist. For example, a urologist, urogynecologist, or nephrologist can help figure out how symptoms relating to one's bladder, urine, and kidneys should be treated. Sometimes different treatments are tried, one after another.

Mixed flora: Mixed flora usually means a squat & pee sample where in women there is some vaginal washout or in uncircumcised men there is similar poor preparation. A clean catch, midstream or catheter obtained specimen is more reliable. Treating a mixed flora sample is like drawing it from a public toilet. It may delay treatment for the true issue which requires more study.
