A member asked:

Im 3 daya late for my menstrual cycle. 2 home tests show positive. can i go to a gp to confirm and then book with the gynae?

Tests are accurate: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test will give a reliable result by 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have been). That means, depending on local routines, one may be able to call her Ob-Gyn to book her first prenatal appointment, and not call her GP.
