A member asked:

Is it normal for my hymen to have a fleshy bulge post childbirth? above the vagina opening. afraid it might be a prolapse but not sure if it is norm.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

After childbirth...: After a vaginal childbirth, the vaginal opening would have been temporarily stretched to about 4 inches in diameter before bouncing back after the placenta was delivered. After complete healing, there probably is no more hymen visible. If there is a bulge, one's Ob-Gyn doctor can take a look to see what it is.
