Urethritis treatment: The main causes of urethritis are STDs -- gonorrhea, chlamydia, or nongonococcal urethritis. If the initial treatment isn't working, he needs to return to the doctor or clinic treating him for re-diagnosis and revised treatment. It isn't possible to recommend any particular treatment without reevaluation in person. If you and he are sex partners, get treated yourself and no sex for the time being.
