A member asked:

Had sex on 25 sept did pregncy test 2 week after sex negative my period was sedule for 10 oct till now no yet get my period is it normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tests are accurate: Can repeat test once. Today's home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, STD's, or medications. A correctly done urine test will give a reliable result by 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have been) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive is likely real, but a negative may be due to testing too soon.
