Painful intercourse : Pain with nausea as described may occur secondary to a resident pelvic infection or the scar tissue created by prior pelvic infections, which cause pain and nausea. A diagnostic pelvic laparoscopy may provide insight into the cause, but first a present infection must be ruled out: test for gonorrhea and chlamydia should be obtained.
