Some thoughts...: Skin pain can be from one of several possible causes. A doctor's exam is needed (primary care doctor or dermatologist). A person starting shingles can have burning pain of the skin where the rash will happen. Sometimes nerve irritation (anywhere along the nerve from the spine to the skin surface) can cause pain sensations in the abdominal wall or surface of the abdomen.
