Get help: You should consult a psychiatrist and mental health counselor for assistance for your girlfriend. This is a difficult to manage condition and requires a greaat deal of experience to be helpful. Working with mental health professionals, counseling and possibly medications may be helpful. Yourport and help dealing with the recommendations is very important. Do not try to tackle this alone.

Borderline: The hardest thing to maintain with borderline personality disorder are interpersonal boundaries. Boundary violations often occur with people struggling with this disorder and whoever your relative is, you're going to have to work on those boundary issues first and foremost, most notably in terms of safeguarding against being emotionally invaded or manipulated by that person.
