A member asked:

I have 2 boils/abscesses that won't go away. they are no longer painful and they are smaller in size but they've been there about 2 months. i have a third one on my behind that just recently formed. a1c is high 10.9%?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can recheck: The antibiotic-resistant bacteria called MRSA is usually checked for when a person has a boil. The doctor can swab the pus and send it to the lab. Certain antibiotics are used for MRSA boils, and other things have to be done to try to get that bacteria out of the household. Boils can still be due to regular, nonresistant bacteria... so hope it is nonresistant.
