Broad Question: In general, painless rapid growth over time are hallmarks of worrisome lesions. Lesions that have not changed in a long time are less likely to represent a cancerous growth. A less common sign of cancer might be changes areound the lesion. For example a pale halo around a dark skin lesion might be a sign of cancer.
