Probably negative: That's a negative result, but it can take up to 3-4 months before the HSV blood test becomes positive. If you had no symptoms suggesting a new HSV infection (either genital or oral), you probably weren't infected. In that case, probably no testing was necessary and it need not be repeated. Most exposures to HSV infected persons do not result in infection being passed.
