Doctor can recheck: Medicines such as Tylenol, Motrin, Advil, or Aleve are used to help ear infection pains and inflammation. Usually, ear pain that is not improving, or that persists more than 2-3 days after seeing the doctor and using medication, should be discussed with the doctor again. The doctor generally needs to reexamine the patient's head, neck, ears, nose, and throat to see why recovery is not happening.
