A member asked:

Experiencing sharp shooting pain, irritation in vagina.is it nerve damage or inflammation, is there any other diagnosis? what are the treatments?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vaginal pains: These sharp shooting pains have the hallmark of irritable nerves or muscle spasms within the vagina. If there are associated symptoms like steady pain, tenderness or vaginal discharge or urinary problems, inflammation would be a concern and an examination by a gynecologist would be warranted. Otherwise I expect the spasms to resolve. You could try taking a magnesium supplement in the meantime.
