Vaginal odor ?'s: A strong "rotten" smell may come from a "lost tampon" which absorbs bacteria and can cause serious infection. See your gyn physician as you may not be able to reach where the tampon is located vaginally, especially if you have had intercourse, which may push a tampon beyond a self exam.
