Elbow pain: If there's no recent injury or redness to suggest infection, tendinitis of the joint is a common cause. This would have associated tenderness and pain on motion. Arthritis or gout are less likely. If you can take them, anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen or naproxen for a week should help. Try alternating warm and old compresses, and rubbing in liniment like bengay. See MD as needed .
