Skin irritation: The rash may be due to diaper dermatitis. Keep the area clean and dry, use a gentle soap with no fragrance, and air dry by keeping the diaper off as much as possible while at home. A diaper cream for infants may be used with each change. Other considerations include an immune defect which can be evaluated with a blood test.
