For what length of time can you put of treating a possible uti / bladder infection / kidney infection?

Can or should?: Bladder UTI won't kill you, kidney UTI might. Ideally, should never delay treating a uti, you never know which urinary infection will be restricted to the the bladder (lower urinary tract). Just because person has had many utis which never reached kideny, doesn't mean that the next one won't.
