Every month when i am on my periods, i suffer from bad back pains, period pains and terrible headache. i am not on any contraceptive measures, is there something that i can take to help me with this as i can't afford to miss work every month.

Painful period ?'s: Painful periods with back pain, headaches may be due to endometriosis, which can also cause diarrhea with menstruation. If you are not trying to become pregnant, ask your gyn about low dose oral bcp's, which will decrease the symptoms you have significantly, and lead to less occasions to miss work.

Dysmenorrhea: Get evaluated. Dysmenorrhea can be caused by polyps, fibroids & adenomyosis. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, extra salt & junk carbohydrates. Increase complex carbohydrates – try to incorporate at least 5 servings of vegetables and 4 servings of fruit into your diet daily. Try: Omega- 3 fatty acids. Try to take in magnesium either through supplementation or through your diet with your Dr’s approval.
