Yes...but: Studies in the US has shown little if any value to meds like Dimetapp for that age group. It can actually thicken secretion & delay clearing of middle ear fluid during an infection. It was in very common use until data on ER visits due to overdoses led to close study. I haven't suggested its use in decades.
