Test: Whenever in doubt, test. Your question got truncated, if you were trying to ask something else please repost. The only situation when you do not have to test would be if you are not sexually active, because you cannot be pregnant.

Pregnancy test: Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.

Can do a preg. test: A home urine pregnancy test will give a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and therefore lead to a repeat test. If a woman has her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and the test is not needed yet.

Home urine test?: Congratulations (if you love cute little babies)! A newly pregnant woman can make an appointment to be checked at her doctor's office. If there is a medical issue or problem, she and her doctor can arrange for proper follow-up then. Otherwise, a cute little one is on the way. Do remember that miscarriages are a normal part of life, so some pregnancies will not survive the first three months.
