Is it normal to feel your heartbeat next to your sternum? i can feel it lower as well, under my nipple, but sometimes it feels stronger near my sternum, between the 2nd and 3rd rib, especially when i exercise.

That sounds fine: The heart is behind and to the left of the sternum. It is about the size of a fist. There is a good diagram of where the heart sits in the chest at : https://www.acls.net/anatomy-of-the-human-heart.htm.
