A member asked:

Had a vaginal birth 1 month ago. i don't expect everything down there to ever be the same but how long until it's fairly normal? i looked in mirror and everything is very big and open. blood loss is minimal but some days it's more than others

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vaginal birth ?'s: Depending on the size and position of the infant, and the techniques utilized for vaginal delivery, the observed laxity of supporting musculature will vary considerably. Usually within 6-8 weeks, there is resolution of most acquired distortion of anatomy, but may be longer if the delivery was problematic.
