Reflux: This sounds like reflux, a process where stomach contents back flow up the swallow tube through a weak entrance. It happens a lot in some as early as birth, peaks around 3-4 mo & subsides after they spend more time sitting/standing. If it seems to bother the kid or interfere with feeding/growth check with the doc.
