Some basics: In any given flu season there are 7-8 strains of various flu circulating the globe. International air travel aids the dispersal. The vaccine helps protect against 4 strains including swine. There are less common strains & other viruses that can cause illness. While this seasons vaccine has been very effective, you can always get a flu or non flu illness even after having the vaccine.
