Age, Sex, Setting?: The exams that a patient needs to screen for cancer depend upon the patients age, gender, and clinical setting. A good place to start is with a routine physical examination with a trusted physician. Based upon your age and sex, the provider will screen for diseases that would typically be of concern. A 40 year old woman may be screened for breast cancer, a 60 male for prostate and colon cancer.
