You can help by : Attending al-anon meetings to learn how to manage your co-dependency & refuse to interfere with the natural consequences of your boyfriend's alcoholism. If he is verbally or physically abusive to you when inebriated, they'll help you & any kids who live at home find a safe house. When you "talk with your feet, " he'll either seek help for recovery or not. Enabling is not healthy or effective.
