A member asked:

How can sitting on the floor too long cause pain in the middle of the backbone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Proper posture: A properly balanced spine keeps the head centered over the pelvis as viewed from both the front and the side. Best way to maintain "perfect" posture is practice with a book on your head. Balance the book, and your head is balanced. Now, remember this position. The curves that exist when balanced are your normal curves. You're not supporting your back, nor using best posture when sitting on floor.
