Probably not herpes: First, a "bump" that can be popped and then bleeds is not herpes. It sounds like you had a pimple, folliculitis, or small infected cyst. However, the answer to your direct question is yes: it is indeed possible to have genital infection with herpes simplex virus with no initial symptoms and infrequent outbreaks. But if this bump is your only symptom, probably you don't have herpes.
