Hypertension: Hypertension is abnormally high blood pressure. It is a basic test to have your blood pressure taken and if it's elevated, hypertension is diagnosed. Some people confuse hypertension with anxiety or emotional tension.

It can only be diagnosed by having your BP measured at least 3 times on at least 3 visits using an accurate manometer and following proper technique. The gold standard today is to have a 24 hr BP done. Next best is to measure it correctly with an accurate device at home. That is what I prefer to use.
