Is a pregnancy test accurate 38 days after sex?

Pregnancy test ?'s: If the "38 days" occurs w/o a period, even most "home pregnancy tests" are positive (if your periods were regular prior to this). Obtain a serum HCG test which is more accurate, as if the home pregnancy test is negative, you may still be pregnant, but a pregnancy outside the womb (ectopic) has lower amounts of pregnancy hormone (HCG) and a negative home test may be an error.
