My gynecologist just told me that i have a risk of a baby with down syndrome, should i be worried?

Depends: All pregnancies have a risk of DS or other adverse events. The issue is why mention you. Screening tests are relatively cheep but not definitive. They select those at higher risk that would benefit for more expensive tests. You can have a NIPS test done on blood drawn from you after 10 wks where baby cells are found & tested for DS or other defects. These approach 100% accuracy. If it matters do it
