A member asked:

Sometimes when i eat, i get a tight burning sensation in my chest, sometimes followed by excess mucus. it lasts for a couple of minutes.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Esophagus: This symptom is characteristic of some degree of esophageal spasm or motility reaction. Often swallowing some water reverses the spasm. It would be quite worrisome if symptoms occurred with every meal. A gastroenterologist is best qualified to evaluate and advise you about this symptom.
