A member asked:

I know azithromycin is the usual for mycoplasma genitalium but would clarithromycin also work?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

M. Genitalium: In the laboratory, clarithromycin is effective but azithromycin is such standard care that essentially everyone prescibes the single dose technique and consequently I'm unable to find any studies where the former was used on a significant sample of patients with M. Genitalium urethritis. An infectious disease specialist may have more information for you.
