A member asked:

My 18 week old son has total head lag. is this normal? developmentally says he should have no head lag by 4 months

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No...but: If the kid was born early or sick the same standard would be adjusted to a later date. It is also important to assess the feature with a proper maneuver. Few lay people have the experience needed to properly assess many of the gross or fine motor activities of infants. If there is a true question about the kids status have it evaluated by an experienced pediatrician or developmental specialist.
