A member asked:

We have a sex ten days ago with my girlfriend is there any drugs or pills she can take so that to prevent pregnancy?

Not this late: The morning after pills that are available OTC can work best if taken within 48-72 hrs of exposure. One may work up to a week. Ten days is a bit late to start thinking about contraception.

Sure, for next time.: For this past time, if pregnant... babies are really cute. Life is full of surprises, but college-aged couples with a pregnancy are fine to get married, get stable jobs that provide health insurance (such as with large companies or union jobs), continue school, get help from family members, get student loans, and start a wonderful family life. Good planning is key!

It's a bit too late : At ten days, the morning after pill is unlikely to work. If she has symptoms of pregnancy (like missing a period, breast tenderness, weight loss, nausea), should do a pregnancy test and go from there. Abortion is still legal in all states, if that is an option for her.
