Bacterial vaginosis?: The most common cause of strong vaginal odor is bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria. The odor often is fishy. Although not a true STD, as far as known, BV is more common in women with gonorrhea, chlamydia, or other STDs. Trichomonas, another STD, also causes these symptoms. See a doctor or clinic ASAP for evaluation, testing, and treatment. Good luck!
