Missing Periods: Duphaston is not available in the US. Duphaston may be given for missed periods due to anovulation (not ovulating). Ovulation results in progesterone which will lead to a period in the absence of pregnancy. By giving a progesterone-like compound to a woman who is not ovulating, the uterus will respond with a period. Bloating, cramps & fluid retention are common with either.
