Fever?: Hypothermia = low body temperature. He may have exactly the opposite, a high fever. People with fever with "shaking chills" usually feel cold. (Is that what you meant by hypthermia?). Fever with shaking chills indeed is cause for alarm. There are too many possible causes to even guess, but if the problem continues or if his temperature is over 39C, he needs to be seen immediately.
