Not aware: Some of our medical anesthetics came from natural substances such as curare, cocaine, opium. But I am not aware of anything that you could pick out of the yard that would help your toothache. Several otc preparations are available.

Yes, referred pain.: Teeth can sometimes cause pain somewhere else besides the affected tooth (referred pain), making it difficult to discover the source of pain. Tooth pain can even be referred to parts of the face.

Not at all: Removal of teeth is smooth and easy. Make sure the doctor well trained. Most oral surgeons are quick and efficient at removing teeth. Removal of infected teeth can be painful sometimes due to the inability of the anesthetic shots to be fully effective. You can consider sedation if this is the case. Goo luck!

Consult with: Your dentist to see if and what treatment is appropriate. He will obtain a panoramic x-ray to help diagnose your particular situation. In the interim do warm salt water rinses and take some Ibuprofen 2 tabs every 4-6 hours if you are not allergic to it.
