Emergency situation: If one is having new, significant visual changes (meaning this is an undiagnosed situation for her), then it is time for an emergency examination by an eye doctor. Her own ophthalmologist can do this, if that doctor is available now. Otherwise, she can go to the Emergency Room. These situations are emergencies because certain disorders need rapid treatment, to try to prevent losing vision.
