Agree w/ being seen: I agree with what has been said thus far and would add that there are other possible causes as well. If it is very painful, you should absolutely be seen to a) get a diagnosis, rule out herpes simplex, etc. and b) get some relief! If you have an abscess, including an infected cyst, the physician you see should be able to drain it, which will give you near instantaneous pain relief! Good luck!

Vaginal Cyst: There are multiple glands in your outer vaginal lips, it could be a Bartholin cyst, that could grow from one of these glands. Sometimes it could even get infected and get worse, with pain, fever and swelling. If you have discomfort its important to go with you gynaecology to treat this problem.
